A Savory Poem

      1. Poet = sensitive & expressive
      2. Women find this attractive?
    2. Bread used to woo women.
      1. Baker of warm, hearty loafs = warm & solid
      2. Others unravel that mystery
    3. Bread is still closer to poetry
  2. Takes inspiration
    1. Poet is inspired by experiences
    2. Desire to express feelings towards someone else
    3. When I bake bread, it's often for a dinner party
    4. Or when the weather is cold & I want to be warm inside
  3. It's crafting is a labor of love
    1. Poet chooses words carefully
      1. Find right ones
      2. Not too many, not too few
      3. The words are just so
      4. Remove some, and poem fails
    2. A baker chooses best ingredients
      1. Too many overwhelms the palate, and are distasteful
      2. Too few, bread is incomplete
      3. Flour, yeast are necessary; if removed, bread fails.
    3. Wordsmith knows many words and meanings
      1. Chooses the best for a poem
    4. The flavorsmith understands ingredients and seasonings
      1. Selects to make perfect loaf
    5. Poet labors over his words
      1. Writing, erasing
      2. Staring, reading, walking away, and returning
      3. Perhaps reading it to a friend, and gaining their response
    6. Baker's labor is similar
      1. Culinary words are: flour, sugar, molasses, yeast, milk, and heat
      2. Measuring, mixing, kneading, rolling, and baking
      3. Friend's response valuable in appraising the result
  4. Final results is pleasing to the senses
    1. A poem is not meant to be silently examined
      1. It should be read aloud
      2. Mouth savors the words & relishes their texture as pronounced
      3. Ears capture the sounds, and meanings
    2. Nor is Bread just admired
      1. Hands feel the texture & measure the weight of the slice
      2. Nose capictures the aroma
      3. Mouth savors the flavor, and texture
      4. Light, airy feel of a white bread
      5. Dense dark flavor of some wheat breads
  5. Eat bread
    1. Next time you have good bread
      1. Not plain loaf bread = "Roses are red, violets are blue"
      2. Quality bread
      3. Savor the culinary poetry
    2. As for me
      1. Looking forward to cold weather
      2. Inspiration to bake
      3. Perhaps I'll invite a female friend and woo her
